Where I'm at Today

During my last post, I mentioned how things finally were on the up-swing. That really leads to where I am today as a junior undergraduate student. When people ask me if I'm happy with my decision to transfer, I always tell them that I'm not necessarily happy but where I'm supposed to be. I have been honest about my feelings from the very beginning, I am not uber-passionate about Mercyhurst. School spirit does not ooze from me; there are pros and cons to every university. I recognize and give more credit to individual professors and educators for making me the man I am. I mentioned one of these professor (Professor Sheridan) in my previous post. Other people at Mercyhurst that I have found helpful are Dr. Hoffman, Col. Correa, and Dr. Duvenage, just to name a few. Mercyhurst was and is a fit for me and what I need as an undergraduate student. The only way to know if a university is the right fit is to hear the negatives and the positives.

This past fall I started coaching high school football at my alma mater, resumed working at Chick-Fil-A, and started my own podcast. I've included links to both Spotify and YouTube so both are available.  As it stands, right now I am on pace to graduate a semester early from Mercyhurst. Upon completion of my degree, I plan to work at ERIE Insurance as an Underwriter.

I encourage you to reach out to me via email at hford69@lakers.mercyhurst.edu if you have any questions on any of my posts or Mercyhurst University.

Mercyhurst Men's Lacrosse Finish's Off Fall Ball

As the autumn leaves fell from the trees and raindrops slowly hit the ground, we embarked on our journey to Nazareth University for a scrimmage against a historical program out of Pittsford, New York. For us, it was more than just a game; it marked the end of fall ball, the culmination of months of hard work, and a chance for us to put all of the pieces together from this fall.  The trip to  Nazareth University was a refreshing change of pace from our usual routine this fall. Our bus was filled with anticipation, preparation, and excitement. The journey was not just about covering miles but an opportunity to bond as a team as the wheels turned to Pittsford, New York. Road trips are an excellent time for us as a team to connect through sharing stories, exchanging jokes, and creating memories that will last forever for us all.  As we arrived at Nazareth University, we were greeted with a beautiful campus made out of old brick. The Nazareth Men's Lacrosse team showed us grea...

Mercyhurst Lacrosse Experiencing Change This Fall

As the calendar pages turn, leaves change colors, and the air turns crisp in Erie, PA, the fall weather is upon us here at  Mercyhurst University . "Fall Ball" is upon the Mercyhurst Lacrosse team as we prepare for our upcoming season in the spring and reflect on the experiences we developed last season. Last season, we had a very successful season, making it to every collegiate athlete's dream...The National Championship. Unfortunately, after our appearance in the National Championship, our team was saddened by the news that our head and assistant coaches had taken new coaching opportunities.  As the fall came around, we were excited to hear that the school had hired  Trey Keeley  as our new head coach. Coach Keeley has a solid lacrosse background, allowing for the development of our program and individuals to be in good hands. My teammates and I were very excited about hiring Coach Keeley because it opened up many new opportunities for us on and off the field. The ...
