Starting to come together

As I mentioned in the previous post, I have been very negative thus far. I don't do that to be spiteful but to recognize that this was where I was at this point in my life. My sophomore year really started to improve starting in the second semester and I started to feel acclimated to my environment.

I started to think about pursuing a second major as I was already in a good place with my intelligence degree and my electives. I thought about pursuing a degree in political science. This seemed like a logical fit due to my older brother, Logan's, familiarity with the professors. As mentioned in previous posts, a few years earlier he graduated from Mercyhurst with degrees in both Political Science and Intelligence. For one reason or another, things did not come together so I turned my eyes toward a different major...communications.

It seemed too obvious, I had already taken advanced-skills classes at a top communications program in the country at Newhouse. I set up a meeting with the at the time Dean Brian Sheridan. Brian was super welcoming and answered every question I had. He was enthusiastic about gaining another student to the program and helped me in every way possible. It felt good to continue to pursue communications in the background, as I progressed through my intelligence degree. I officially became a double-major student.

I concluded my sophomore year by being offered a job as an Underwriting Intern II by
ERIE Insurance
. I accepted and started my summer. Everything finally started coming together.

Mercyhurst Men's Lacrosse Finish's Off Fall Ball

As the autumn leaves fell from the trees and raindrops slowly hit the ground, we embarked on our journey to Nazareth University for a scrimmage against a historical program out of Pittsford, New York. For us, it was more than just a game; it marked the end of fall ball, the culmination of months of hard work, and a chance for us to put all of the pieces together from this fall.  The trip to  Nazareth University was a refreshing change of pace from our usual routine this fall. Our bus was filled with anticipation, preparation, and excitement. The journey was not just about covering miles but an opportunity to bond as a team as the wheels turned to Pittsford, New York. Road trips are an excellent time for us as a team to connect through sharing stories, exchanging jokes, and creating memories that will last forever for us all.  As we arrived at Nazareth University, we were greeted with a beautiful campus made out of old brick. The Nazareth Men's Lacrosse team showed us grea...

Mercyhurst Lacrosse Experiencing Change This Fall

As the calendar pages turn, leaves change colors, and the air turns crisp in Erie, PA, the fall weather is upon us here at  Mercyhurst University . "Fall Ball" is upon the Mercyhurst Lacrosse team as we prepare for our upcoming season in the spring and reflect on the experiences we developed last season. Last season, we had a very successful season, making it to every collegiate athlete's dream...The National Championship. Unfortunately, after our appearance in the National Championship, our team was saddened by the news that our head and assistant coaches had taken new coaching opportunities.  As the fall came around, we were excited to hear that the school had hired  Trey Keeley  as our new head coach. Coach Keeley has a solid lacrosse background, allowing for the development of our program and individuals to be in good hands. My teammates and I were very excited about hiring Coach Keeley because it opened up many new opportunities for us on and off the field. The ...
